From long ago, people have enjoyed holding a moon viewing party, or tsukimi in Japanese. Why has it been so popular? What kind of feeling does the moon inspire in the Japanese? To find out answers to such questions, let’s stroll around Hirosawa Pond together, which has been one of the most beloved spots for tsukimi. Through the tour, we will understand tsukimi culture better. We might feel a connection to ancient people and the elegant, aristocratic atmosphere as the guide shares stories and poems related to the moon.

Meet at Saga-Arashiyama Station. We will head to Hirosawa Pond while learning its history. The area is calm and quiet -- away from lots of tourists, and the pond itself offers a breathtaking view.The itinerary:
