Gion Festival held in Kyoto annually is one of the most famous festivals in Japan. It originated in 869 and the highlights of the festival are the Parade of Floats (July 17th) and the Eve of the Parade (July 16th), but we have something important almost every day.

Kamo River is the key to the meaning of the festival and you will learn what this festival is for through this tour.

869年発祥とされる日本三大祭りの一つ、祇園祭。16日の宵山や17日の山鉾巡行が目を引きますが、そもそも一体何のためのお祭りなのでしょうか？7月1日から31日までの一か月間、祭事が続きます。鴨川の水と切っても切り離せない、祇園祭の起源を探ってみましょう。

The itinerary: Meet at Gion-shijo Station. We will head to Yasaka Shrine while learning the stories related to Gion Festival. After a tour in Yasaka Shine and enjoy walking in Maruyama Park.
